NILOC
UoB Assignment Module
PROJECT STILL UNDER DEVELOPMENT
Niloc is a competitive spell-based multiplayer open battle arena developed by Sollara Games in the University of Bolton. This was developed as a major project assignment given by the University. The team responsible for developing the game consisted of 3 designers, 1 artist and a programmer.
As a Designer for the team, I was given the role as the level designer for 2 of the 3 levels. The levels Included the Lunar Wraith and the Archaic Abyss. Once the level design aspect was completed, I began creating various world props to fill both levels.
As we tested the game various times, I had to redesign the level layout and also design the exterior for the Lunar Wraith level in hopes to maximise the gameplay experience.

With Archaic Abyss, I collaborated with the level designer in charge of dust bowl to create a level that included some of the properties that players enjoyed of the Dust Bowl level and the Lunar Wraith level and combine them into one level.
Niloc is a game that is inspired by various other games, such as Magicka, Battlerite e.t.c. Using these references, we were able to build a game that customise their combat style, giving the player the control as to what they want to take into battle. And with different levels bringing different play styles, the players have the option to choose the abilities that can be useful for the level, or their personal preferences.
