Tokyo Rush

UoB Game Jam

Tokyo Rush was a game where the same team from the Fall of Winter, with an additional member who was an artist, made for our second game jam.

We were to create a game within 30 hours with the given theme, "Fast and Slow". So our team decided to create a competitive racing game. For this game jam, I took the role as the programmer as I was more experienced with UE4 blueprints than the rest of the team.

As the programmer, I was tasked with creating a local multiplayer where each player had their own special ability they can use. I used various mechanics such as a punch that knocks back players and slows them, ability pickups, respawn, special area that slows the player and teleportation.

Tokyo Rush is a platformer game where two players have to compete against each other and run to the finish line.

With our experience from the previous game jam, our team had high expectations from both our team members and other participants who were in the game jam.

And the expectations were met as the game we created WON! Due to our game getting such an amount of high praise, we even got the opportunity to present our game to various open days for our University.
